In order to use Gmail as a Front-end for Smartermail, follow these setup instructions.
1. Go to Settings > Accounts
2. Setup the accounts you want to retrieve email from
3. Hit ‘Add a mail account’ under the heading ‘Check mail from other accounts:’
4. Enter the email address you want to link.
5. Enter the account details for the mail account you are linking with the following settings.
After you hit ‘Add Account’ button, you email account will be linked and will download into Gmail.
6. Remember to note that Gmail ONLY does POP3 (can NOT do IMAP) so your messages will download, and they download at various times, NOT immediately. So there may be a delay between someone sending you a message and that message appearing in your Gmail account. You can do a manual force by going to the account on Settings > Accounts and clicking on the ‘Check mail now’ link as shown below. This will force Gmail to go and download any new messages from the linked account.
